why not pull the motor, oil suddenly starts to go into all my cylinders for no apparrent reason, Im sure something had to happen BIG

those ROL headgaskets were put on tight and are racing head gaskets, nothin cheap, Im starting at the intake manifold, then going deeper, this is not a car to be seen smoking in public, not my style and a total embarrassment to our 5.0 community and all the HARD labor put into the motor and car.[:@][:@]
So we are gonna get to the bottom of this, Im representing all 5.0's down here, and there is not many if any in my area at all, so Im the trend setter.[&o]

[:@] just my luck on a friday!

-One head has a cracked valve guide. not all the way, very fine crack.

- Looks like a burnt valve

- the cylinder burning most of the oil, was found that the roller lifter came off the pushrod cause the bolt backed off[:'(]

- you can see and feel the piston scored, all of em are like this, and you can see the cylinder wall scratched. most of em are, WTF ??

- you can see the timing chain and sprockets are shot, also you can move the entire crank fron to back a whole inch!!!

I found not metal or foreign objects, but all this damage.

damn whats my best option here????[>:]

How do you have 1.00" of crank end play, and your motor didn't grenade??? 'Sounds imposible, but I'll take your word for it.

Chalk it up to experience bro... You'll know what to do the next time.

How are the bearings?

With an inch of end play in the crank, the thrust bearings would have to be non-exisent.

That would bugar up several things.

The bore/piston wear could also be detonation or oil control, maybe something else though?

How old is this motor?
Who built it?

It sounds like you need to do a major and complete rebuild.

Let us know what else you find.

well ???!

Im thinking if should rebuild her, save for better engine etc, etc, lol hard decision when the motor is apart and the dam machine shops rippin you a new but hole and dishonestly

do you guys think that one valve that was not opening was causing my smoke out the pipes>>>??? due to the roller lifter bolts coming loose? and the roller lifter coming OFF>>?? and I drove for a week [:'(]

the pistons are like that because you didnt put them all back in their origional bores. They're worn to the shape of the cylinders, the piston would be a different shape than the bore, theres your scuffing problem, plus you should have mic'd the pistons to see if they were warped or out of round. As far as the lifters messin up, could also be because you didnt put them back where they came from. You cant do that in an engine build, if you rebuild an engine and re-use parts everything re-used must go back where it came from, the surfaces have worn and mated themselves together.

so are you telling me im screwed and to get a used good shortblock and do a basic rebuild on it?

to restore this block and do the machine work would cost too much dam money.

A neighbor has a 302 MEXICAN BLOCK THAT TURNS OVER BY HAND NICELY, IS THIS GOOD OR BAD?

also does not installing the piston and rod in the same location throw the balance off or not?
