If i were you i wouldnt s/c it. Id buy the Trickflow Street kit for 2k. Id buy 4.10 gears for 200, headers, off road H pipe, and a catback (prices range from about 700-a lot). Try your hand at installing those. If you take it slow and do everything right, when your done you will be able to walk the 99 GT all day. If you want to do more than that, work on suspension. Forced induction causes complications, and your goal of beating a 99 GT in no way needs boost.

I agree w/ some of you and disagree w/ others. Age means nothing. I wish I'd known how to change oil and spark plugs at that age.

First off, what is your budget? We need to know how much funds you have to start modding. BTW, once you start, you will NEVER stop, so be prepared.

Second, I'm w/ Blue in that you should do suspension work before major bolt ons or other mods. Most people put the power in first, then tear out torque boxes and damage other parts b/c they didn't stiffen the chassis, which has a lot of flex.

Look at something like this for the order on your TO DO list:
FULL tune up (change oil/filter, plugs, wires, dizzy cap/rotor, fuel filter, etc.)
Gears
CAI or K&N drop in filter
bump timing and run 89+ octane
subframes
strut tower brace
catback exhaust (they start ~$300, btw)
mid pipe (H or X, catted or off-road)

That is a lot to get you started. Don't worry about boost or the H/C/I swap until you've done those. Also, there are plenty of threads about the H/C/I swap, just do search for them. If you still have questions about something you can't find using the search, post it up and we'll try to help you out. Good luck.

The kid has pm'd me a couple times, he's just looking to learn stuff. Im not discouraging the tough love, but I think responses like gps's will do him more good then telling him he's a dumbass 15 year old. lol

I agree completely with gps's "to do" list. That should keep you busy for a while.

sams you went off the handle bro... funny though to give him a lil reality check, but i think he is really looking for a solid foundation of mustang knowledge to use in the future, and he's excited... 15 1/2, fast cars, tons of hormones, prolly wacks off ten times a day, he's just excited .... but i dont thin khe's dumb

theres tons of teens who just sit on the couch and play video games at least he's putting effort forward

+1 He is not looking to do all of this overnight like it seemed he was saying. He is looking for some good starter mods and eventually run a supercharger.... eventually.

lmao ten times a day....talk about a quota

ya he's just putting together the "wish list"......which is cool, everyone does. Then work and taxes and women and student loans and in laws and beer work their way into the picture and that will help him refine his wish list.
