Default Nitrous Knowledge-Please Help!

I have a 1990 5.0 and I am looking into investing in Nitrous, but I do not know much about the diff. brands or anything or the benefits or downsides to the kits and whether or not it is safe for the motor. I was wondering what you guys would recommend in terms of a kit for my car. Dry or wet? How big of a shot can I safely do? Educate me on nitrous please.

You can do up to a 150 shot safely on the pre 93 5.0s however with your lack of knowledge I would go no more then 100 until you're familiar with it etc.

I would go with a Nitrous Express or TNT Nitrous kit for your car. Those are the two best manufacturers. Get a wet kit.

For safety you might want to get a new ignition box like the Mallory Hyfire VI which has rev limiter, ignition retard, and window switch built it. You will need a Wide open throttle switch also. This will keep your nitrous as safe as possible and keep you from blowing your motor.

NO!
DONT GO WET!

gas will pool in your manifold and make it go Boom!

Go dry, its better for the 5.0s for a lower shot anyways.

Wet or dry, doesn't matter. You only have probs with wet kits when you don't use it right (I.E. pushing the button below 2500 rpms and not at full throttle). With a window switch and full throttle switch the nitrous will only be sent under high vaccum situations, sucking the mixture in at a velocity where its virtually impossible to get puddling.
