retarding my cam

what will happen if I retard my cam one degree. trying to get all the horsepower available

From my understanding, it doesn't necessarily give you more hp, just moves it up in the rpm range (same hp, but at higher rpm's)....

If that is the case, just make sure you have the power in the RPM range that you are going to be in when doing this....
