H.O. Fibertrends makes a hatch that will accept both, glass and lexan in it. it is $359 +shipping. the makes some excellent products. it only weighs 21lbs.

I have done this to a race 5.0 , simple direct bolt on, have painted FIRST.

Got to HOME DEPOT ETC and get 1/4 thick sheat of LEXAN/POLYCARBONATE $60-70 measure area, cut to fit with razor blade, very fast and easy.

Get liquid nails CLEAR Color ONE TUBE and mount her on, .

I have a fiberglass hood and cant wait to do the latch , it really does increase performance to remove weight, I can feel that

One day im going to replace my factory glass in the hatch with lexan... it's not dot approved an thus potential for problems, but i asked an ex-state trooper and he said, "what the *** is lexan?"... I didnt get the feeling it would be a problem...

Man the DOT has some of the craziest laws.... Lexan would be pretty cool to have in a street car....not only will it save weight, but it is pretty much un-penetrateable(sp?). My cousin is a vol firefighter and they had to watch this video of a fireman trying to bust through a lexan store front window with an axe..he couldnt do it. Same thing with 5-point harnesses. In SC the DOT says its against the law to have those on and not the standard shoulder strap...lets see, one belt that goes across my shoulder, and one that holds my waist, or 5 BELTS that keep me secure. A State trooper told me the reason it was against the law was because if you were in an accident and were unconcious, somebody might not know how to get you out with the buckle...

Im pretty sure you can buy lexan precut for your hatch.... just throwing that out there so you dont buy it and spend a day trying to cut/fit it into the hatch.

whats the point of buying a fiberglass hatch and putting heavy glass back into it? get lexan from lowes or home depot or a glass shop and glue it in there after you paint it.
