Need help whit trouble codes!!
Man my car has bin acting dumb lately, Its bin dying on me only when its warmed up and finely today It gave me some trouble codes
# 67-Clutch switch circuit failure.- Don't know what this is
# 63-Throttle position circuit fault,below minimum voltage.
I checked my TPS voltage and its at .923 volts. I don't get it what is going on???
will my TPS make it stall??

RE: Need help whit trouble codes!!
the cars computer uses three clutch switches. I believe one is used for dashpot (slow return to idle), one is used for cruise control, and one is used for enabling the starter. Is the idle ever kinda high? Sometimes you can get a high idle if the tp sensor voltage goes too low (another dashpot thing better explained in another post) but if the signal drops below .5v, that code sets and it will likely stall. If the code 67 refers to the clutch switch used for dashpot, it may be the cause as well if it primarily happens after letting return to idle. I would have to check to be sure.... all the fox body books have mysteriously walked out of the building.... bastards..

# 67-Clutch switch circuit failure, has bin there for a long time
my idle problem just happened when code 63 showed up.
So I changed the TPS and it still surges and dies. One thing that I notice now was that the code 63 said "Throttle position CIRCUIT fault, below minimum voltage. Not Throttle position SENSOR. fault, below minimum voltage. so dose this mean that my wire harness Is no good

RE: Need help whit trouble codes!!
not necessarily. The computer looks for voltage on certain wires and will assume that the circuit is the faut. There is no real way for the computer to actually test the components. Very not likely the PCM is your problem. You must have a wiring issue if replacing the sensor did not help... Its a 3 wire sensor. You want to have 5 volts on two of the wires (orange and white / dark green and yellow). Only the orange and white should be able to light a test light. You want ground on the black and white wire with very low resistance (<2 ohms). Check the connectors behind where the intake and throttle body meet. The TP circuits the pcm monitors goes through the connector to the right. Hope this helps... you'll need some tools but it can be done without replacing the entire engine harness[:'(]

RE: Need help whit trouble codes!!
my friend with A 89 let me borrow his wire harness for one day, my car ran nice I have never felt that much power from it! This mean that my harness is no good so ill get me one.
The good thing was that it ran nice but it ill stalled and die. I changed IAC and it seemed to fix the stalling problem but the only thing is that the IAC came off a 97 mustang and my car is a 89. will this IAC work? well I think it dose.
