I recently purchased this same engine threw a ford parts connection guy on ebay.....same specs but once i started talking to the engine builder and told him i was looking to supercharge it he gave me a list of options i could change...I ended up adding Dart pro 195 heads, lower end girdle, comp cams xfi cam, stiffer valve springs for the S/C, and a few other odds and ends the guy said it should be good for 400hp at the wheels before i supercharge it and max 575-600 with a supercharger. These blocks max out at about 600 horse before you split them in half. All said and done the engine showed up at my house and i ended up only paying $3300 bucks. So i would look around before you order one directly from ford.

For $5700. I think you could choose much better. And they lowered the Sportsman block rating from 600hp to 450hp about a year ago.

build one your self. just buy a man o war block or whatever it is, get some heads, cam, intake, etc, and make you a badass engine. just joking lol. i bet theres a good shop around your place that could build you a good engine. just look and ask around. good luck!
