advice would be great
now that the generic topic title has gotten your attention.
Who should I PM on this site for advice on modding an 87 302. i dont need to worry about emmissions what so ever. and also someone that knows a bit about foxbody thunderbirds. i ned advice on engine/drivetrain/suspension. anybody that would be one of the best on the site for these things would be great.

RE: advice would be great
well if you want a variety of answers, ask around... what do you want to do with the car? daily driver, street/strip, pure strip? hp goals? times? ask around, there are a couple of smart people here

wow guys, you guys are quick. i posted in off topic just incase it was spam in the 5.0 section. (thnx for moving it)
anyway, i want to stay streetable. thats a fact. So honestly, whats the max on a 302 N/A hp wise where its still streetable. around the 450-500hp range? i think i want to go with 3.55 rear gears. if i were to take it to a track it'd be a road course. prolly take it to the track when my school takes over the local drag strip. look at it this way. im taking out a $25,000 student loan. 15,~~~ is going twards my tuition. the other 9,~~~ is for living expenses, a new tranny for a 2000 elantra that i just recently blew, and my car. so off the top of my head i'd say my budget is 4,500 [sm=smiley24.gif]. thats not including the 9in rearend. unless you guys come up with a good rearend gear chunk at 3.55. b/c i can get a 9in for like 150 bucks. so 4500 would be the engine budget. infact throw in a good flywheel/clutch while your at it. im getting the car back thanksgiving so im sure i'll talk to a bunch of you through pm's and blueprint the engine before i buy all of it. even though im getting the loan sometime this week.
i talked to some guys from my *home forum* and one dug through his mags and found a mod list that gave a fox body mustang 5.0L 370rwhp for about 2600 or so dollars. so i know the 302 is a cheap platform. keep in mind for true duels with an x/h pipe i need to relocate my gastank (upgrade to a race tank or something like that.)
gimme some ideas. that'd REALLY help.
EDIT: oh yea, im def losing the EFI and going CARB.
