Default bad map sensor??

Well here is my problem. When I start my car, the RPMs are at about 1100 idle. about 80% of the time now the RPM's lunge down to about 500 and the engine either climbs back up to about 750 or die completely. Also while driving, if i come to a stop a push the clutch in to slow down.. the RPMS die way down as if there is a lack of fuel delivery that would keep the car at idle rpms at least. As long as i have the clutch out t will idle but if i dont give it gas or have it in gear it will turn off. Could this be my MAp Sensor? Any other thoughts of what could cause this? It started happening gradualy and has now gotten worse. T.I.A. for any help

Before you replace your IAC take it off and clean it with carb cleaner, then brake cleaner. Also check your tps voltage with KOEO throttle closed to be sure its within spec.

its stands for idle air control calve, its the thing on the right side of the throttle body, i need to replace mine to when i start it up it will do the same thing as u described but it will be fine ince it warms up for a minute, i talked to a good mechanic(and a good friend of ours) and he said what u do is take the negative AND the positive cables off the battery with them off let it set for atleast 15 minutes then when the times up touch the two leads together right before u hook them back up, the car will prolly do the same thing when u start it up that 1st time but after that c how it goes if no change then u prolly def need a new iac, speaking of that, today i think im gonnna go get one and put it on ill c how that works, if so then that should def clear up ur problem cause mine does the same thing, hope this helps man, ohhh, and i think a new one cost about 50bucks, hope this helped

sounds good.. when i get off work 2day i am gunna clean the hell out of it.. then tap the leads 2gether after letting it sit b4 i hook it back up an then cross my fingers so it works. 50 bucks is not bad, but if its not broken why fix it right? Thanks for the help because im tired of looking like a rookie driver when my car stalls at a stop light. haha cant get chics that way very easily..
