Default HEADER TEMP

HI WHEN I START UP MY 93 LX AND RUN IT FOR ONLY LIKE 2 MINUTES THE HEADERS SEMM TO HEAT UP QUICKLY, I CHECKED THE TEMP OF THE A COUPLE INCHES BACK FROM THE FLANGE THE TEMPS VARY FROM 190 DEGREES TO 280 DEGREES, IS THIS NORMAL OR DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE CYLINDERS ARENT FIRING EVENLY, THANKS A LOT GUYS

Well, considering that the combustion temperatures can reach 1500 degrees F, it would only make sense that your headers would get that hot that quick. It's perfectly normal.

okkool thans man also why would the temp of the headers vary 200 degrees from cylinder to cylinder[&:]

Well heres what I think, this might not be right but it is just an observation.

The inner 2 cylinders are surrounded by a cylinder on each side. The outer 2 cylinders only have one cylinder adjacent to it. Result might be that the inner 2 cylinders will feel some of the heat generated by the outer 2 cylinders but the outer 2 cylinders will only feel heat from a SINGLE adjacent cylinder. Which is maybe why the inner 2 could be hotter than the outer 2. I guess...[&:]

YES THE INSIDE CYLINDERS RUN HOTTER, AND THE TEMPS LISTED ARE NOT VERY HOT.
