Default Fenders

What year fenders fit my '92? Ive read a few places that the wheel opening size changed somewhere along the way from '87-'93 but dont know exactly when.

Also would fenders off a 4 banger Mustang fit or is the wheel opening different for those too?

90-93 front fenders have a larger wheel opening to accomidate 17" wheels/tires, the fenders for 4 and 8 cyl, are the same, the molding varies from GT to LX though! go with fiberglass...if you want to of course try http://www.mpsautosalvage.com/index.cfm for used mustang body parts

^ +1 They changed in 1990 or 1991 because of the pony wheel (so ive heard). And yes the fenders are the same for a 4cyl.... well atleast I hope so because I just got two of them for my 88 lol

Thanks guys. Im eventually going to get the body fixed up on my '92 and Im thinking that its better to get new fenders than deal with the rust. Im really going to try to find some locally but if not Ill order them from the site above.

Fenders from a 4 cyl are not the same, they are smaller then the 5.0's. You will see the fender extention on the 5.0 is bigger then the 4 cyl. I have a complete 4 cyl that I took the fenders off and they are smaller and it is a 1992 4 cyl which is the same year as my car. They will fit the car but will not line up at the bottom of the bumper because of the size difference.

The ones I bought are off a '92 4 banger car.
Cant I just use the fender extensions off my 5.0? I need to anyway since one of the new ones is cracked. Its just a fiberglass bolt on.

I cant find any info anywhere that says the fenders for a 2.3 and 5.0 are different, even junkyard websites and new part sites.

Example: http://www.mpsautosalvage.com/produc....cfm?TypeID=11
If theres a difference between 2.3 fenders and 5.0 fenders this place must just send you a fender regardless of motor size it seems. Theres no different part listing for a 2.3 or 5.0, just '79-'90 and '91-'93 listings.

I always thought LX's had the same front bumpers regardless of the motor too.
