Anybody have a list of vehicles on which i can find a turbo that will work fine with a 5.0, im being drug into a custom 5.0 turbo project and im looking for a list, were wanting a single turbo that can supply around 10psi and the exhaust housing wont get overwelmed at 6K, anybody got some info for me? Id really appreciate.

Just a list of turbo'd vehicles that will supply enough air for a 5.0...

Ive found one in the paper for $20, its a T2 off of a 2.2 Dodge Daytona, it says its in great shape, no shaft play, im still a little weary, i mean you get what you pay for, but just cuious, do any of you guys think that is big enough? I dont want my exhaust to get choked up in the exhaust housing.

Its going to need to be a turbo off a much bigger engine than 2.2L. Im betting the only turbos that will fit are going to be from trucks. Good Luck

yeah the merkur use the t3 turbo just like the svo but u need two of them. now the guys upgrade junkyard style is the holset off a dodge diesel but u will need two also. so figure if a turbo is on a 2.3-2.5 gas engine and u got a 5.0 u need two

Right now im looking at a Turbonetics T3, its plenty big enough for a single set up, but a twin wouldnt be all to bad either. Im in no hurry, i was going to get some Flowtech shorties and flip them upside down and make my own flange, etc. Then get a used intercooler and run the piping for that around the front of the car.

But one question, i guess this should be in pipes, boost and juice, but ill ask here to. Should i run both of the exhaust through the T3, or just the left or right through it, i want it mounted on the passenger side. But im wondering if i throw both sides of exhaust on it, its going to choke it up, and its going to restrict exhaust flow and ill have to get a bigger exhaust housing for it. Thats of course, if i go with a single set up, id rather go with single, for simplicity.

Im not a turbo expert or anything, but dont you need ALL of the exhaust to run thru the turbo? I dont know of V style motor w/ turbo that only has one side of the exhaust powering the turbo. Again, i could be wrong. I wouldnt mind doing a turbo setup mine, but I'd want all 8 cylinders powering mine..

I'm pretty dam sure you cannot run only half of you exhaust through a turbo thats providing boost to all of you engine... not sure but I belive it will not run correctly ucs exhaust restriction wont be even at all. All turbo kits I have seen tie in both exhaust headers, pretty sure its must on a V8.
