Default Question about TPS.

95 GT
So I thought that a TPS was a TPS. But I call autozone to ask about a new one. Their computers had 2 different ones. Said it was for either engine code D or T. Mines T. But I have an edelbrock tb that came with a tps sensor. Would I need another one like that, or would any work? What is the difference in any of these?

Anyone think that the factory replacment tps works with an aftermarket tb? I figured it would but I dunno.

I think I'm going to try the one at autozone, and get the one for my engine code. But what I don't understand is that the one that came on the edelbrock tb did'nt make a difference in engine codes. Another place I called said they made one for 5spd and AOD.

Manual vs auto is the same.

There was an adjustable tps that cam on EEC-III cars. Ours being EEC-IV, won't use that tps.

Get the tps for your engine code.

What is the code you are getting for the tps?
Is it causing the car to run poorly?
It could be that the tps is not the problem, maybe a ground or short in the Vref. signal

aight, this is funny or dumb, according to how you look at it.

I was trying to set the voltage withour removing the IAC. I was using a screwdriver to hold up on it while trying to tighten the screws and I busted a hole in it. Noe it reads 000 on the measurement. I know, I know...I'll take the iac off this time around.

well the tps just tell the computer how hard your gettin in it, so the stock one should work.
