Default MT ET street radials or BFG's?

Hey guys, new to the forum here. My '89GT still has the OE turbine wheels and seein as how I want to keep it looking stock (The sleeper effect you know) I'm gonna go with some Pony rims. I believe those are 16's versus the turbine 15".
Here's where I need some advice: What would fit on the pony's and still hook good?
Hopefully I'll dyno the car next week but general consensus is about 340 RWHP.
Here are the mods:
76 C&L
65mm TB
Cobra intake
1.6 rollers
Edelbrock aluminum heads
Trick flow stage 1 cam
Shorties
O/R X-pipe with Pypes cans
Zex 75 dry shot

Those 15's are beggin for mercy, What would you put on the pony's and what size?
TIA

If you're not too worried about treadlife, you can't beat mickeys. The BfG tires are awesome too but have a better treadlife, though its still not too much life.

OK, thats what I need to hear. What about the rest of you guys?
When you cite poor tread life what are we lookin at 10K miles? 12 or 15 maybe?
Keep in mind I'm not burnin 'em at every stop light. And I'll rarely run the car at the track.

GRIPTION- Kinda like a condom. when you need it, you REALLY need it.

if you're looking for the stickest tire that will hook the best w/out concern for tread life...mt et streets w/out a doubt. if you want something that will hook well and last "longer"...look into bfg's or nittos

I get about one summer of use out of my BFG's Thats with driving about two or three days a week and one weekend day, as well as once per month at the track. All told maybe 3-4000 miles. I have friends that get about the same with M/T. As for how they hook, well I run 1.5's in the 60 foot, so yea they hook.

im in the same position youre in, but im gonna put them tires on the turbine wheels just for the track and have ponies as my summer tires. Im leaning towards the BFGs cause they dont hook as good and im worried i might snap an axle cause my rear is stock. what size are you looking to get

eh? you'd bend an axle before you'd break one.
