just wondering if you can just take the speedo part out of a 1990 that is a 140mph and take the 85 out of a 1989 and change it that way ???? because i have a 140 speedo with white out gauges in it and want to put it in my 89 but its out of a 1990 dont think it will fit so im thinking that i could just swap the speedo part of it the speedo is already calibrated any thoughts?????

 

Well, if they have the same face, I assume they should swap fine. I did the same thing with swapping out an 85mph for a 140mph in my 83. Although they are different assemblies, the swap went fine. I didnt need any new speedo gears.

I don't think you can go later than that as 90 had an air bag and there's a difference in them. I'll have to check to see what it is as I can't remember off of the top of my head.
