drill hole in the butterfly will it help idle problems??
i talked to some guy and he said if i drill a hole in the throttle body plate that it will help start up, this is due to a large cam and it requires more air then the iap can provide, he said like an 1/8th hole anyone ever hear this or try this or even think it will work

RE: drill hole in the butterfly will it help idle problems??
I wrote in to Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords and asked about something to help my car idle. I had a Trick Flow stage 1 cam in a 331 and I just couldn't get it to idle right. They suggested that I drill a 1/4" hole in the throttle body blade. It worked great! I have since changed to a bigger cam and this no longer works and I have to get a chip burned to make it idle.

Drilling a hole has the same effect as using the idle bypass valve....and it's adjustable....check it at http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/idlebypass.htm

good find joel...i wouldn't scew with drilling yet...i have some idle issues, but i'm so close, and i am so picky if any of you drove my car it would'nt bother you one bit...i'm using a fairly big cam with alot of duration so hold up on a chip as well..how many codes do you have?...just wondering...
