So pulling out of a supermarket tonight drove by a group of people hanginout w/ their cars and in the crowed was a beat up 4-eye. I punched it in 1st and broke the wheels loose, so he hoped in the car and followed me. We pulled out on the road and he got up next to me and hit it in first, I wasnt expecting him to pull on me so quick so i had to throw it in first so he got about a car length jump on me, by about 3rd gear I was gaining on him slightly but not by much. at about 80mph I had narrowed the distance between us from about 2 car lengths to 1 and we stopped.

I got up next to him and asked him what he had in it and he said it was "stock" but he just rebuilt it and it was a "roller motor" I wasnt sure what he ment at first but didnt really have time to ask because I had to get on the highway...

My car was slightly faster but it seems like he wouldent have held up that well even with the weight difference between a 4-eye and the sn-95...

Anyone know what he was talking about... it also didnt sound stock... at least the exhaust definatly wasnt...

Most likey it was not stock those older four eyes weight alot less then newer stangs. I know some 2400-2800 lbs with the drivers in them all be it its a street/strip setup

he probably was stock . that seems about right. you did good to stay with him.

4-eyes FTW!

I was able to take a sn-95 5.0 5 spd at work, those things are too heavy for my tastes

Might just be a weight & shifter thing. My friend has an '86 GT with a '95 GT engine in it. I turned his timing up a little & got lined up with an new auto GTO. With the weight of both him & I we still smoked the gto. The only thing done to the engine was long tubes

See my mods in my sig i have a 83' and i can hang with 99-04 gts door to door this is with the stock converter weight plays a HUGE factor in that. The kids that don't know how to drive i really just murder them as long as the foureyed have a updated roller 5.0 they can be pose a problem for the heavy newer stangs but, in stock form the foureye stands no chance 79-85's

I'm not real sure about some things but I do know that with my 86 GT with nothing more than a K&N filter pulls pretty solid on the bottom end. Apparantly they don't have near the weight of alot of mustangs. Like a tell alot of people, watch out for those beat up 5.0's, there is always the chance they just spent there money on something to make it a little faster.
