Default possibly buying a 95 5.0

Hey guys, I'm new to this section. This morning I looked at a 95 5.0 for sale but it had a few problems. I was wondering if you guys could help me out. The car looks like new from the outside, interior is a lil beat up though, not too bad but not great. Engine is really nice and clean and runs fine. Tranny worked ok until it slipped and the ****er popped out of 2nd into neutral. Clutch was replaced a few years ago but the pedal feels like it wants to come up, i always thought that was normal though. it has almost 140,000 miles on it but the odometer doesnt really work and could be off by more. Brakes looked good but when you press hard they pull hard. first time, they pulled left a lil, then they pulled ALOT to the right, then they didnt pull at all. They wanted 6500 for it, but i dont think its worth more than 4500 with these problems. What do you all think?

Well the brakes shouldnt be a problem... but the clutch/tranny might end up costing you sum $$$...

Well you know that transmission will need some 1st 2nd gear attention and the brakes will also, I'd say 4500 is a plenty.

kellybluebook.com puts the price at like 2500 for the condition its in. although the car has several mods, cobra wheels, CAI, exhaust, ignition, etc. We might try to negotiate the price down to like 3500. If we can get it there, do you guys think it might be worth it? I'm not too worried about the brakes, just the tranny. My dad hasnt necessarily driven stick in a while so when it popped out of gear, it may have been his fault. I didnt ask the owner if its normal cuz they might lie and say no just so we buy it.

The car had 94000 miles on it never had any mods done do it until I bought.I got the car fax with it everything passed with flying colors! My car inside and out is super clean still has the original paint and stero in it...Just take your time and keep looking you find a good deal out there just be patient.........Good Luck

I'd say get it for cheaper than that or keep looking. They're out there. Don't let emotion get the best of you. It's easy to do -- look past all the problems when you're shopping for a used car. You'll find something. Make sure the price is right if you do buy it. Those mods you list don't equate to an extra 1k when you consider the rest.

Just my opinion.

I'd say 4 g's tops. I bought mine with some mods for 5100, but it was CLEAN. It had headers, gears, and some other goodies. I carfaxed it first tho, always a good idea. But i'm still not sure if it was worth 5100. But thats all i could talk him down to, it was up for 6
