how much can a stock block handle?

how much can a stock block handle?
I was wondering how much a 88 stock 302 block can handle in horsepower? thats streetable. I know some drag racers keep the stock block because they arent driving it everyday.

with the right intrnals and 4 bolt mains into the outer wall, a stock 302 block can handle alot more than 500hp even with a gridle they can do more then 500hp on A DD, and remember just cause yuor motor makes 500hp does not mean it always is making it that is a peak # at a certain rpm, so in a DD that produces high #ers take it easy on the street, lower rpms. BE SURE TO HAVE THE MOTOR ENTERNALY BALANCED THET WILL HELP ALOT.
