Default Another thread about the 06 GTO.

Sorry about another vs thread. I made a thread earlier about my friend getting an 06 gto and me trying to compete. I have a 94 GT, 3:73s, Centerforce dual friction clutch, o/r h-pipe and flows. Hes gonna have his GTO sooner than i thought, so im gonna have to buy an n2o kit sooner than i thought. So heres my question....

would this setup be able to beat him? 94 GT with 3:73s, o/r h-pipe, flows CF DF clutch, and a 150 shot of wet nitrous

the driver of the GTO is not good at all, and im a pretty good driver.

Oh and if it matters, the race will take place on a street at a redlight. Sorry to all you anti-streetracing guys.

I'd put money on him, he's got 400 HP stock, i dont think your gonna get that with a 150 shot. I'm not too sure how much those cars weigh, so that might be a large factor in the verdict of the race.

Well.....he is considerably heavier than you. Curb weight they are 3725. So it should be alot closer than i thought. Do you know how much hp you will have after that shot total ?

Don't the LS2 GTOs have 400bhp? Even with that wet shot, you're still going to be down on HP. His car is a bit heavier, and you say he isn't a very good driver...But I still dunno.

GTO's are fast but he's gonna be new to the GTO feel, thats leaves you with an advantage. If it where equal drivers I would say that GTO will probably take you. Like always though anything can happen in a street race so you might take him just cause your more use to your car (I think) then he is. Let us know the out come video if possible and good and be safe.

Hes BRAND new to driving stick, and doesnt know much about cars. His cars being shipped from new york, and he isnt getting it for another couple weeks.

I know my car in and out, and consider myself a pretty good driver.

My cars bone stock, with the exception of what i said above, CF DF clutch, o/r h-pipe, flows, 3:73s, and i forgot to mention MGW shortthrow, but thats not that significant anyway.

The GTOs are 400 hp 400lbs of torque. 5.0s stock are 225hp 300lbs of torque. The 150 shot alone will put me up to 375 (theoretically). With the gears, nitrous, and the fact that its a 5.0, im hoping to out torque him. Im gonna race him from a dig, i know better than to try to highway race him.

From what i understand, GTOs weigh around four thousand pounds.
