so if it's bored 0.030 over wouldn't it be a 306 right???? and it's still called a roller 302
Yes, your correct. Mines bored 0.030 over now, so its a 306, as in my sig. But when i got it, it was still a 302, thats what i was refering to, a stock 5.0 engine is a roller block 302. Any 302 above 1985 is a roller block.

who said i was driving an auto? its a stick... sorry i mean the other guy in the right lane was driving an auto, hence his not spining 1st, and getting a decent 60. i only ask if i should beat him cuz hes a friend of mine w. a camaro, and i think i can if i hook... you know how it is... gotta show that mustang power and try to beat the camaro...

Depending on what year camaro, if its an old 80's body style with a 305 in it, you should be able to spank him in an 88, just practice alot more. Go to the strip everytime you get a chance and run it. You'll get much better, practice makes perfect.

The 87-93 Mustangs were much faster than the Camaro's out at the time. It shouldnt be to much of a problem to eat his *** alive in a 1/4 race.

I wouldnt bore it unless you absbolutely need it, there is no point, it adds no hp and it shortens the block life.

I manged to whittle my 60 foot time down from 2.4ish to 2.2 then to 2.0. My best run thus far grabbed a 1.9. You really don't need to launch like you may think... not stock like this. Just have your foot a little on the gas pedal so it's at like 1500-1600. When that tree starts to fall, start letting off the clutch and don't really get on the gas for a sec... it will bog just a tiny bit, then once the car starts to move about 5 feet forward, nail it... you'll already have the clutch out, so it shouldn't spin the tires too bad

and as far as the camaro... its an 88 iroc 350. he ran a 15.2... as far as i understand i should be able to pull a 15.2 right? whats a stock 88 stang suposed to run? i heard 14.8-15.4...is that about right? i think 14.8 is stretching it tho...

^ What track? I will be at Capitol tomorrow night. You must be dumping the clutch at the line... ? Launch at a lower RPM, and ease the clutch out, SLOWLY giving it more gas... By now you should be rolling, so you can fully release the clutch. You can burn your clutch up pretty good if you give it 'TOO MUCH' gas, while letting the clutch out. Practice is your friend...

Sticky tires will do wonders. Some gears too.
