Nah, were talking about the shift light that comes with tachs. The round thing that sets off to the side of the tach is a shift light.

I think when cars come from the factory with shift lights (which I didn't know Mustangs did), the light tells you when to shift for optimal fuel economy, rather than for optimal power.

+1, I had a saab a while ago with a "shift up" light. It would come on between 3 and 4k, then go out again. It was strictly fuel economy. I do want to see a pic of the shift up light on your dash though.

My old beretta had a shift light for fuel economy, it sucked. They dont go off till you shift, and that = annoying.

86 mustang GTs did come with a shift light its around the left side of the dash, lights up at 2k, very annoying, I took the bulb out, MY car aint telling ME when to shift lol [8D]

well one thing...why does your tach only go to 5000rpms? and another, if your just wanting a shift light to let you now when to shift, screw getting a big tach and mounting it to your dash somewhere...get a raptor performance shift light...their small and work really well.
