Default 250.00 for used 8.0 rear end. Good deal?

I found a junk yard that has an 8.0 rear end from a 5.0 for 250.00 plus my trade in (7.0). Is this a goo deal?

according to Chiltons the 8.0 was in all the way up to the 89 model. I never heard of an 8.8., 9.0 maybe

Those books suck... the fox mustang only came with a 7.5" and an 8.8... you want the 8.8.. i think the 8 inch is out of an old mustang.. but i might be thinking 7 inch.

You may be right. I didnt see the car. I am only going by what the junk yard owner told me. In any case is 250.00 plus trade in a good deal if its an 8.8?

check e-bay first. or cragslist.com. seems a lil pricey if you are giving them your rear end and 250 bucks.... even though it is a crappy 7.5 that you are giving them.
