Default which cam?

i just purchased some twisted wedges, 2.02/1.60, 61cc, ported and polished already. i'm rebuilding my 302 w/ this kit from northern auto parts. i need to know which cam fromt he list i should use. are all of the shown rpm ranges showing where the cam will output the most power? i want something decent, streetable, nothing very serious. i was guessing the
130042 1600-4600rpm 266 dur .469 lift 110 lobe sep. would this be ok? btw, my application is a 1980 302 block going into a 67 coupe.

Your heads can support a more aggressive cam than any of those choices.
I have the TFS heads on my 351W with a .520 lift cam .220/.236 @.050 Works great.
Don't know how the heads will work on a 302 but I'd want at least .512 lift and 212 @ .050 This would be streetable.
Look at other cam grinds besides the ones they offer in the kit. I'd get a custom grind from Comp.

of course i'd rather a custom grind, but i guess i'm just asking for a small explanation of these lift numbers. you're saying .050 is streetable. is this agressively streetable? or averagely streetable? i dont know jack when it comes to cams.

If you have the TFTW heads you should prolly just go with the trickflow stage 1 cam. When it comes to cams you cant just list lift and duration and say whether or not its streetable, there are other factors that play along with it. There are some people on this site running the stage 1 cam, they could probably post sound clips.

I have the stage 1 cam. IT sounds allright. Perfectly streetable, and aggresive. No problems with valve clearanc either

+1 I think there are plenty of off the shelf cams that are really good. Only time id get a custom cam is if the engine i was building was a final build and was never going to change...

Definetly dont go with the cam that they suggested.... its barely bigger than the stocker; even though the stocker is actually not a bad cam. You can go with a TF Stage 1 cam... its a very common cam and tons of people on here run it with no problems. Its also very streetable.
