i dont have the time for the cam but i am putting the cobra intake on mine and i was wondering what the best set of heads would be. So either the 351 clevelands or the trick flow

i always thought there was an incompatability between the clevelands and the windsors, i know the 351w heads will work, but you might want to do a little more researching before trying to put on the 351c heads

yes it works.. with alot of massaging and some drilling. the head bolts are in different postions on some of them.. so new holes need to be drilled into the head so you can use the head bolt holes in the block.... waist of time in my opinon.. just notch the pistons and go with some trick flows or afr 165's... or even some roush 180 iron heads,, cheaper and flow just as good as the trick flows or afrs.

Those clevland heads arnt going to fit on your 86...C's have 2.19 intake valves and 1.73 exhaust...good luck, not to mention they're canted valves, so regular pistons will not work with them, you need special valve reliefs. Yes, cleveland heads will fit on a Windsor style engine, but with some machine work done to them, even then, theyre not going to give you much in the way of performance because the ports are so grossly gigantic.
Even if you built the bottom end to fit, your going to need either a custom intake or find a Boss 302 intake to fit the set up.
To much work IMO, just get some pistons with some decent reliefs then find some AFR' 165's or something around that size.
