Well, that's how it was designed from the factory so I would so so. Although you now have aluminum heads but I don't see that being an issue. It's not like it's overheating right? If you're that **** about it, wire in a switch so you can turn it on @ idle.

If it's going all the way to 220°F before turning the fan on, you may have a problem with the Low Speed circuit of the fan.....220°-225° is the range where the Hi Speed relay kicks in....195°-210° is for the Low Speed control. You might have a problem with the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module) or the fan motor. My 2¢.

also like they all said but if you leave fan on too long it will burn up then you will be **** out of luck
