any idea??

does anyone know what the part on back of speedo is for i broke mine off. i changed out my 85mph speedo 4 a 89gt to a 91 gt 140 speedo with white face gauges.but i broke this part of look at picture below i dont know if it is any thing that will effect anything.

Pic quality kinda poor, I have a spare out in the garage and just looked, on mine, there is a resistor of some sort. Looks different from yours.

mine is a 89 the part screws onto back . do you know what its for??

Yeah, now I see the problem, mine has that. You just didn't post the broken part. I believe it's the resistor/reostat for the guages. They will prolly not work now. Plug them in and see. Sorry bro, shoulda been more careful.
