Default Manual Steering Rack and Pinion

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to get a good rack and pinion to go on a 94 convertible gt car. Better yet, what will bolt up to it that is manual steering cuz i work at advance auto and i can get the parts through there. So far its looking like a 250 buck flaming river rack. Don't care to spend money on the car, but it needs to go on other stuff right now and the sumb*tch is hard to turn and get around. Gotta get gears in, hood and bumper painted, and other odd and end stuff. If anyone has a idea of what will bolt up that is manual steering please let me know cuz my rack is worn out my car is supercharged and has no pump or lines on it and then i'm looking at a new belt also and the headache of puttin it all on. Rather just put a manual rack on since it's gonna have to have another rack anyway. Thanks

summitracing has the whole kit for 429, brenspeed also has the whole kit for 399 + free shipping. the kit = manual rack, steering shaft, bushings, and tie rod ends. this kit is flaming river of course. iwant to get one but cant afford it yet. i have done alot of research and what i have seen is that manual rack works just as well as power steering, but its 30 to 40 lbs lighter.

250 for a flaming river rack is a great deal. I just tok all my P/s stuff out of my car and left 3 inches of metal line on my exhisting rack and got some braided line and connected each side of it to the metal line i felt on the rack ther ya go manula steering .Its not quick ratio but when yuo go straight mostly it works just great

I have a quick ratio rack and its really a pain to park and turn at low speed. I really wish I saved my money and put it somewhere else. I didn't notice any difference in performance either. I had 225/60/15's up front and they were a pain to steer.

If I remember right, my '84 lost 34# as a result. I went with the standard ratio becuase it's a drag car. Using skinnies on the front. Turn it with 2 fingers. I like it.
Also, if you are not driving the pump with the motor of your car, I'd think it would be worth a .10 or so in ET.
Remember, the 34# is off the front of the car too. My '84 had a shipping wieght if 3177 so that more than 1% oof the front end. Car when built by Ford had 58% of the wieght on the front end.........
