Megasquirt?
Is that the thing you have to build and program?

I thought the tweecer was involved and hard to learn. [8D]

Convert to maf. With the money you are spending for the turbo system, why would you make it harder to tune?
Tweecer, PMS, and Moates; all have gear that YOU can learn to use. And it all comes assembled!

That is just my opinion though.

Why all the resistance to going MAF?

huh? Resistance? Everyone is trying to get him to convert to either MAF or get the Megasquirt to run the injectors if he does stay with speed density.

LOL.
I was trying to ask the original poster, why he didn't want to run a MAF.

oh lol....

Yea, he would benifit alot more from MAF.....it adapts to mods/boost much much more easily...over on Turbomustangs.com....most guys running Speed density with boost are only getting up to like 4-5psi max. a FMU isnt really the most proper way to run boost. Converting to MAF is alot more reliable/easily tunable.

I personally think you should just convert to MAF, its going to be a Helluva lot easier to tune with that. You can run turbo's with speed density, its just alot harder to get it tuned right, and you need a one way check valve on the sensore, and blah blah blah...just go with MAF and be done with it...cheaper to if you buy the MAF conversion parts off of Ebay or out of a junkyard.

And your going to have to get 42# injectors anyways and if you convert to MAF, at least you dont have to buy two MAF sensors, just one calibrated to the 42#rs.

Thats JMO.
Converting to MAF is not that hard, but do not buy a Conversion Kit from one of the dealers as I did, you get raped. I never thought of using ebay untill after i bought it and found out i would have saved about 300. You should be able to do it for under 100 depending size of sensor you buy. It will save you money in the long run and make everything alot easier.

My mustang is turboed and i run a megasuirt. I switched from mass air to map because i like it better with a turbo car. Let me know if you have questions about either the turbo setup or megasuirt.

^^^wow someone actually knows what they're talking about with experience and comments...imagine that sorry if that's harsh but i don't understand why people respond if they're unsure. it leads to a lot of misinformation on the board. i guess it's because "they" think they're correct

virtually every programable/stand alone ems (especially for boosted apps) is a map sensor/speed density based system...but unlike other systems that run 1500+ you can get a fully assembled megasquirt ems for about 350 bucks (140 or so for the diy kit). MAF systems are typically not used in boosted apps as they are restrictive to air flow and slower to react to varying engine loads.

the "FAST" system is a speed density system.
you could use it, but it would be just as hard as converting to a Mass Air EEC.
