Default that is right...another head question

Alright I went to go look at the casting number on the set of 351W heads my dad has in his garage and see if they will work. When I lifted them up from the corner he had a set of 289 heads off his 65 mustang before he put 302 heads on it. So here is my question. I like more of the low end grunt. I don't want to kill my top end horsepower though, obviously something that will do a little of both but more low end for me right now untill I can afford to do a full build. I looked for the casting number on both heads and was able to find this on it, hope it is right.

351W heads is C50E
289 heads is C5A9

Will either one of these work and which will be better? What are the pros and cons for each? They both will be sent off to a machine shop because they need to be re-worked really bad but might also port them.

Better look again at those '351' heads as those casting #'s are both for things made in 1965
C=60's
D=70's
E=80's

I am 100% sure on the number for the 351's, They have a 351 casting number where the rockers and springs are and the C50E is on the bottom of it.

I'm saying that if the heads you think are '351W's' and have a C-5 casting number they cannot possibly be. The 351W didn't even come out until 1969 model year........

I will go back over to his house and double check the casting number then. I said 100% but now you are starting to get me to doubt
