Do it yourself, you can do it, and you will be much happier in the end. i did my first install myself and it worked out great. Perfect tooth contact, backlash, and preload. You do need some special tools, but i believe you can rent them. I just borrowed some from a friend. All i needed was a torqometer to measure the preload, a dial indicator with a magnetic base, a dial caliper, and a torque wrench. Once you do it you wont think twice about ever taking it to a shop to have it done. Go for it!!!
