i was dynoed with tailpipes at 180 rwhp in a truck and dumps with 176hp /// 246 torq at wheel witth dumps and 254 at wheel withtailpipes..not enuff to make a difference in my case ..im sure its gonna vary

85-92 had forged. hyper have a high silicone content(>16%). they are "stronger" in a sense, but are more brittle. this is what makes them poor for nitrous and boosted applications. when they are "shocked" by detontation they shatter. forged pistons will give more before they break. but hyper pistons dont expand as much when heated, compared to forged. this allows you to run tighter clearances. this reduces emissions and cylinder wall scuffing. hyper are much cheaper too. theres also a difference between the TRW slugs and true "forged" pistons also.
