RE: stock heads max hp
Stock heads will never flow as well as a descent set of aftermarket heads - their not designed as well. Don't get me wrong though, worked properly stock heads will flow nicely for a street engine. A good port job and larger valves would go a long way on a stock head - but with the price of aftermarket heads being so cheap for 5.0's its not worth it to port them unless you have the ability to do it yourself or find someone willing to do it for just a couple hundred bucks.

actuly i can get it done for free, just buying the parts... but in the long run im looking for heads that will give me 350 to 450hp with a good intake and cam and other bolt ons... but i guess i wont get those numbers no matter how much money i put into stock heads huh?

how much would the ave. supercharger setup run about? im looking for around 400hp to the back tires... what would i need? like 8psi? or 12? with good stock ported heads and a typhoon intake and long tube headers...? and with a setup like this would 24# injectors do? or would i need bigger?

RE: stock heads max hp
I think 400 would be do-able with 12psi or so - but it would have to be intercooled - and no 24# injecters would not cut it - you would need at least 30# and you really should get 42's for that.

RE: stock heads max hp
Not sure if you care or not, but for comparison. I'm making around 260-270RWHP with stock as stock can be heads.
I've got all the boltons I could do, but the internals are all completely stock.
But I do have a differant cam (b303).
So I guess that's about as far as you can get without touching the internals or adding some form of FI without changing/modifying the heads.

RE: stock heads max hp
well if your going with stock here is something
1. go with serve duty valves that have been undercut for flow
2. port the hell out of the runners
3. have the chamber worked..ie. unshrout the valve area and polished to a mirror finish....this is not needed for the runners...shave a few 1000's off the head to increase compression also do a 5 angle valve job..but the chamber work is very important
