Default Should I buy it?

Hi everyone. I just joined this forum and I'm hopin to get some feedback on a 1990 5.0 I'm lookin at. So here's the deal..I work at DelDOT makin enough for the insane insurance of being a 17 year old and what not and I finally found a closeby 5.0 for sale. I called the guy up because it was a classified ad and this is what he told me about the car.

It's got 156,000 miles on it with a rebuilt motor and a new paintjob. What makes me think this car could get ready to fall apart is that he claims he's had it for 6 months and only put 100 miles on it. See what I mean? I dunno but I really want a 5.0 but I don't wanna be suckered out of this deal. Any suggestions?

Take it to a mechanic and have them check it out. They usually will do that for a reasonable fee.

Check the paint for chips, cracks, etc. See if the body lines line up right and make sure theres not excessive body filler in the panels. Look down the side of the car for anything obviously abnormal.

Thanks for that. My dad is an A-Tech mechanic so I'll bring him along anyway.

No problem.
The previous owner of my car never really drove the car and he owned it for alot longer than 6 months. It wasnt even registered when I bought it. He had plans for it but never had the time to work on it because he's got two jobs.

Oh ok that's cool. I'll probably be posting sometime after this weekend about the car. Me and my dad are gonna go talk to the owner and inspect the car.
