Default Airline

I was wondering if anyone had any experience taking car plates "license" plates on an airplane? I'm flying to drive my 5.0 back home and need to bring the plates with me...Will this be ok? Or will they do a strip search? LOL

So you don't think it will be ok to carry it on? I was going to just bring my backpack with my laptop and clothes and stuff...
