dropping some pounds on a notch?

RE: dropping some pounds on a notch?
Yeah that sound deadening stuff can take off some weight but you will hear everything from under your car as you drive. If your building a race car then sure why not, if it truly is 100 pounds thats a free 1/10 of a second in the quarter. There are lots of little things you can do, of course rip out the A/C, put on a set of aluminum heads, aluminum driveshaft, Weld DragLites, fiberglass hood and whatever other fiberglass parts you can find. Take everything out of your trunk, carpet, spare tire of course. Radio, speakers, even your winshield wiper motors if your not gonna take it out in the rain. you can save a couple hundred pounds overall, you'll have to have your suspension set up accordingly so you can still get some traction or you'l just bake them tires and any weight gains you've made go up in smoke...literally ;-)

that sound deadening on the floor pans is nowhere NEAR 100 lbs. dont remember exactly how much it is but its definetly not worth the effort. dont forget the front sway bar.

haha i dont have mine on. body roll is pretty bad but its nothing thats like completely undriveable. is this a track car, street car, street car that goes to the track, track car that sees the street every once in a while or what? you're talking about completely gutting the car i assumed it wasnt much of a street car. but ya my car is a street car w/o a sway bar and i dont have a problem at all, just gotta go a little slower lol. i guess its up to you how far you want to go and what the car is going to be used for.
