I've 'heard' that the 5.0 MAF combo can be very tempermental. Try clocking the MAF to see if that helps. By Clocking I mean rotate the housing to see if a certain position works better than others. The flow is critical.

Also, make sure you don't have any leaks around the MAF housing or the TB.

When you disconnect the MAF or O2's in our cars the computer adopts default values to replace the input from that sensor.

Thus,
unplugging a sensor is a bad way to confirm that a sensor is bad.

You need to pull your computer codes, to see why the engine is not running properly.

Since you are pretty new here, Welcome to the Forum.
Now is a good time to create a signature listing your major mods, and other relevant info on your car.
With a sig we won't have to ask what mods you have made every time you ask a question.

What MAF/MAS are you running?
Injectors?
Condition of O2's?

Any of these things could mess things up for you.

But, before you go out and buy any parts, check your codes.
I have a link in my sig if you don't have a scanner.

Let us know what codes you get and we will work from there.

You probably could drive it to the store, but I cannot guarantee you will make it.
If you do decide to drive it, baby it.
DO NOT GO TO WOT

Autozone can probably pull the codes for you, but some locations will only pull OBD-II codes.
There may be other parts stores that will pull codes as well?

What year is this Mustang?
When did the problem start?

1993 the problem started after the Alternator went out last week. But before teh alternator went out, It would cut out at full throttle. and what does WOT mean?

WOT = Wide Open Throttle

There are a couple of things that can cause the car to cut out at wot, and I think they will all show up in the codes.

The cel doesn't come on for all trouble codes.

Ford should have had the CEL illuminate when any problem came up, but decided that too many owners would be taking their cars back to the dealer too often if this were the case.
