Is this hole in my block bad or what??
I just pickup up this lightly used rebuilt 302 "306" with about 3000 miles on it. I got it home and relized theres a dime size hole underneath the intake manifold right behind the timing gear area. It doesn't seem to be where the cam is but really close. It's definitely not supposed to be there but is it really hurting anything? Heres some pics of it.

i dont know what that is. i wonder if it was a casting problem? seeing it is not rusted through with a stock engine it MAY be ok, but i dont know. it will be interesting to see what others say.

yea my engine isnt running too good then it again i think im missing that hole. Ill take a 1/2 inch drill bit on the side of the block and make a few relief holes so the pistons can breathe fresh air better. Ill tell you how it goes.
