will a grand marquis 5.0L engine drop in like a normal 5.0L engine from a mustang?are there any differences in the bracket and accessorie location? and is the AOD from the grand marquis the same as the mustang AOD or would i need a new driveshaft?

Not sure if they're are differences or not, but if there are they would be:

1-Non HO motor: different firing order...not sure about brackets, but you could use the stock stuff and locations....
2-Different length driveshaft
3-Different tranny: If it was, could it be worse than the Mustang AOD?

The cylinder heads are different. The chamber is different, shrouding the valves. Not desirable. Swap your heads. Beware of lack of valve reliefs on pistons too.
Camshaft is different and will run like crap with your PCM. Swap it too. This will correct the firing order also to match your PCM.
All accessories mount differently. But long blocks should be the same.
Tranny is the same except for manual posistion lever and brackets. You will have to drop the pan to switch levers.
