Default timing

hey all,

just got my 91 LX 302 running finally after all sorts of trouble. Biggest problem now seems to be power. i got a remanufactured harmonic damper and i think the timing marks are off on it. I set the timing at 10 degrees advanced, and it had no power below 3000 rpm. i later just turned the distributor towards the water neck (advanced more i think....) and it helped a ton, but the distributor is maxxed out againt the water neck. so my question is, is my distributor maybe one tooth off and i just need to move it and the set the timing again? caus it seems like it should still have more, and i have no more adjustments.

thanks for your input

That's what I would try first, then see how it runs....

Default RE: timing

bring number one piston up to TDC, it will blow your finger out of sprak plug hole and read zero on the harmonic.

Next algin the dizzy to the number one spark plug wire location and bolt down, the dizzy is off line, there is only one way to bolt down a harmonic, so , he is not at fault typically.
