Default speed density to MAF conversion problem

we convereted a buddy of mines 88 car to mass air becuase we just built the motor in it. we took out the old speed dens. harness and put the mass air harness in, everythign was plug and play, but we ended up with an unused gray roundish plug right by the computer that wont hook up to anything... the problem is, the fuel pump is not cutting on.... is there somehting we need to do with that one plug, or do we have to jump any wires?? i tried searching but no help... any help is appreciated

Make sure that you unhook your MAP sensor!

Call Dallas mustang 1-800-MUSTANG. Also, the internet should have some diagrams if you yahoo or google it. My Mass air conversion (prior to Carb conversion) required some tech support too. DM might even be able to refer you to some diagrams and will surely know what that plug is for.

why? computer knows the difference...mine is still map...

are you guys 100% the harness is for a 5.0 mustang? are the salt pepper plugs right? trucks are two pins less than the mustang...i was thinking air bag, cause i had one with that and it wouldn't work...

The tube weighs like 0.00001 lbs which equals 0.00000001 ET drop

If you have a MAF then you dont have a MAP you have a BAP sensor. The BAP doesnt have a vacuum hose connected to it it reads baro pressure not manifold pressure.

Mustangs with mass airflow meters dont have a manifold absolute pressure sensors they have a barometric absolute pressure sensors, so if you do the swap from speed density to mass airflow meter then you need to switch the manifold absolute pressure sensor to barometric pressure sensor.

you couldn't be further from the truth. All you have to do is disconnect the vacuum line going to the MAP and voila! it becomes a BAP.
