Default Stock fan

The fan seems to be moving all the time, cold or hot, makes a lot of wind noise all the time as well. If the clutch is bad would this be the case? I can move the fan by hand with little effort. When I drive down the road it sounds like a late 80's GMC Jimmy, with the fan being louder than the car. Cant be right.

Sounds normal to me. If it is cooling properly dont worry about it, the fans loosen up and DONT turn normally, never heard of one freezing up (and you said yours turns) the loud sound is an indicator of it functioning, like I said, if it turns by hand and it cools, leave her be. Every ford I have owned with a clutch fan (2, and my dad has owned MANY MORE that I have ridden in) sounds like what you describe. Get a cat-back if you dont like it. Or just get an electric fan setup, will give you more hp than a cat-back prolly.

I don't really hear mine when I'm driving, but mine turns all the time too, and can also be turned by hand.

I had an 89 GT back in 90 and dont remember it being so loud. I would think if the car is cold the fan would not be moving.

I thought the same thing. But I did a post about a month ago, asking that very question, and everyone said that the fan should turn all the time.

No kidding. I always get dirt in my eyes when I run it in the garage.
