Default Would you sell...

Would you sell your 5.0 for something else that you wanted???

I have a 1988 5.0 two tone Mustang with 126K miles on it. I've dumped a good amount on money on it. Sig below. I ran into a fast back exactly how I like it. All stock Mustang fastback with a 4 speed tranny. I went to see if I got approved for a 20K loan at the bank and I did. Right know my mind is thinking should I get it or not. I love that car it's so sweet. My plans where to put a 331, 5 speed tanny, rear end and some rims. The car needs no cosmetic or interior work. I also love my 5.0 too I don't really want to sell it.
My plan was to get the Fastback and sell my 5.0 and the money I got from my 5.0 put into the fastback.

Would you do it??

Do you want a money pit, or a money pit? I would opt for the money pit.

I would buy the fastback. It will appreciate in price as opposed to the fox. A 4 speed in that year also fetches a premium price so the $ amount isn't out of line either. If ti blows your hair back and you have the financial means thern do it. But don't DD the car as it will hurt it's value.

716: I have a Honda Accord as a daily driver so I wouldn't drive it every day. My 5.0 is put away right know weather is crappy right know in Bay Area.

5iveoh: Not quit sure what DD means but if you mean upgrading the fastback. Yeah I know it will hurt the value. I just want to upgrade the suspension and add some 17" Torque Thrust 2's. I love how that car sits with those rims. As far as the engine goes I would save the 289 if I where to upgrade it to a 331 just incase if I where to sell but if I do get it I would never sell that car.

I think it's a ok deal. It's all stock and very clean. I've yet to see a Fastback that cost under 20K in 100% condition. AS far as the B.J. auctions I don't think he comes to CA and don't they ask for money on the spot??

What I mean is daily driver. And yes even the auto's are selling in the high teens so 20k isn't outragous for a 4 speed coupe. If you do anything to that car keep the old parts, trust me.
