I have a well respected person that will be doing the work so I'm not too worried about that part.
I respect a lot of people that I wouldnt trust my car to. Look at their resume and customer base. My mechanic (cousin as well) has owned 2 drag strips, was running 12.2x's@122 in the 70's on the class regulation 6" slicks and has a stack of 4-cylinder dirt-track win-slips that literally fill a shoe-box. Dont go on reputation alone, DEMAND PROOF! I went on reputation alone when I bought my crate motor, their customer service was EXCELLENT too, but now I have 244whp and everone here says thats low for a GT40P headed motor.

Dont ask us... ask yourself! You will be the one doing it. Just dont get yourself in too deep. I did that with my 88 Stang and now its sitting in 1000 parts in my backyard under a tent. And no, thats not a joke.
I sure as hell didnt know what i was getting into when i decided to do a HCI, i'm sure glad i found some help, or i'd be really backed up, even further than i am. It is a good learning experience for myself, which is good, and i enjoy doing it. But boy did i freak out when i saw rockers and some rods, i was like "holy sht, i better start puttin this back together" I'd say i got in too deep for trying to do it myself.

If you ask "how much is too much" then chances are anything but minor bolt-ons or 1 thing at a time is too much if you are doing this alone.

Sounds good. Your car is going to be a completely beast when you get it back on the road though. That is definately a good problem to have though.
No kidding! If you have the cash, I say do it up, and enjoy the fruits of your expenditure.
