Yes, i'm using a aftermarket dash kit that I recieved from crutchfield... it screws to the dash... so do I have to use that bracket from the factory radio? it looks like it wouldnt fit...

Im talking about the white plastic part on the stud with a nut on the deck.
I just put it on my JVC deck and it fit right on the stud on the back just like stock.
When I put the deck in I kinda forgot to put the bracket on.
I have the face plate with the 4 screws too.

I just ran to my house and looked at my factory deck... the white bracket is missing off the back of the deck... dammmit

you do not need it. It helps to hold it on and most kits even come with one. It should not prevent you from installing it.
