Default i fixed the ****in' whistle YAY!

ok guys, i got to thinking about this whistle and i finally did this.

disconnected a vac line and lowered the idle about 3 full turns, reconnected the vac line, and then slowly started raising the idle, until it idled exactly like i wanted it to. It now idles around 770 and has a nice lil thump to it. I like my car again, i wanted to make sure it would still run the same even whenever it warmed up so i drove it around and without turning on the fan (til 195) and it ran like a champ. Just wanted to let everyone else know this is what i did and if yours still whistles then try this. I did drill that 1/16" hole in my throttle body butterfly, I dont know if that had anything to do with it working now, but frankly i dont care bc its finally fixed.

I have that whistle. What Vac line did you disconnect? Did you mean the idle air control? What T-body do you have?

so that everyone knows if it takes drilling a hole in the butterfly, idle the car back up to what it was, i think you said 1000 and see if it whisltels again, if it does then we know that it was the hole in the butterfly. i think what has happened is you idleed it down enough that there is leess air flowing and the 1/16 hole is larg enough. when you had it at 1000 it was still whistleing b/c there was more air flow and some air was seeping by the butterfly instead of going through the drilled hole. if the whistle comes back when you idle it up that would tell all of us that dilling thew hole is the key.

glad to hear you fixed it, that makes to of us that love our car again
