Default MAF Calibration differences.

Hey is there any difference between say a maf set up for say a supercharger and a maf set up for a cold air intake? Dont they both do the same thing? Will a maf for a supercharger work on a non supercharged car?

Default RE: MAF Calibration differences.

I have seen that some companies like Summitt are now offering a 'CAI calibrated' MAF.

The theory is that the lower temps resulting from a CAI, will affect the accuracy of the MAF.

If this theory is correct, then a high temp resulting from a supercharger will result in a similar innaccuracy.

I am not sure how much of a difference it will make though.

Unless you are getting a custom tune there will be some inaccuracy introduced by any 'calibrated' MAF.
It would be best to get a custom tune or use a tuner, especially if you are getting into boost.
A CAI should be tunable without a tune.
