New 5.0 owner looking for some advice
Hey everyone, new to the forums and new to owning a mustang. I picked up a 1993 LX 5.0 a couple of months ago and am looking for some advice on what it would need to be a street/reliable 300-325 rwhp car. The car is mostly stock with only 20k on it. It currently has a 2.5" Mac exhaust and H-pipe to the stock headers, ford racing throttle body, steeda tri-ax 5 spd, 4.11 gears, march underdrive pulleys, K&N filter, and maximamotorsports control arms with Eibach springs. I have been leaning towards headers (probably Mac), aluminum heads (??), camshaft, intakes (trickflow or GT40). Any opinions?? Thanks

trick flow has a nice kit. if you want to put one together yourself, popular heads are pretty much edelbrock, trick flow, afr, maybe canfield. as far as intakes go trickflow, edelbrock, holley. personally i reccomend edelbrock vic jr. heads, great for the money, especially if theyre ported.

if you are wanting aluminum heads and a trickflow intake just buy the whole package that summit sells. it comes with the intake, heads and a cam plus the parts to change them (timing chain, gaskets, etc.) and dont forget to upgrade that ignition too.

congrats on the mustang. very lucky getting one with such low miles thats hard to come by. if you want headers go with bbk mac dont like to go back on when you take them off. aluminum heads i would go afr 165cc's they are amazing and not to expensive. the gt40 intake and trickflow are very good and a lot of people on here have them but i would go with a holley systemax (sp) intake cams i cant really help you on i dont know whats the best or anything im sure you will have a lot more people on here helping you out soon

Thanks for the input, and keep it coming! At what point should a guy look at putting on some subframe connectors.
'HACKGT350, do the Mac headers warp after they are run or what makes them difficult to mount after removal?

the mac headers have an individual flange for each exhaust port they arent all connected like other headers so they warp when you take them off and yes get subframes as soon as possible they should have been put on with those 4.11 gears
