My shifter on my stock AOD felt lose, so I pulled on it, and parts flew everywhere, granted there are only three. Now it wont go back on. How do I get it on??????????

We can probably help better if you post pics of what it looks like now. I took my shifter off a few months ago to install my B&M Hammer ratchet shifter and it was all one piece. What pieces came off and what does it look like? The AOD / AODE shifters are relatively easy to work with.

I dont have a camera to post pics. There were three pieces, the handle, the the push ****, and a spring.

Shouldnt be too hard to put 3 parts back together. Doesnt it just slide back in ?

Ya it slides on, It just wont line up. I was woundering if any one had to put on back on them self.

my 1990 , as in repair book. 1 PIECE 4 -10mm SCREWS. it needs replacing its broke. Mine got broke easily slinging a backpack over to the passenger seat before.

Ok, I have an 85 GT with an AOD 4 speed. I pulled on the shifter handle and it all fell apart, three pieces, handle, push button, and a spring. Its not that it wont go back on, it just wont go back on right. When I get it on the button wont line up so it will work. I want to do a five speed swap, I just dont have the money, plus I am joining the navy, and getting married all around the same time.
