well a friend of mine hung his own exhaust, and he had to have one bracket welded on, and the shop he took it to charged him $100 dollars just for the one weld and a rubber hanger...

Sounds like a decent deal if its 35-45 for both, not if for each. You could do it with just about every type of welder there is. The mufflers aren't made out of some funky material like carbon fiber are they? & What type of welder do you have?

If you have to ask, you probably don't have enought experience welding to do it yourself. The metal is thin and easy to burn through also, so if you have any doublts, take it to a shop and let them do it.

ya, exhaust pipe is thin and realy easy to go right through. make sure the welder is set on realy low. 35-45 dollars is a good deal if thats for both mufflers.

just do it the correct way, and buy a catback. it will bolt right in, and have all mandrel bent pipes, unlike the stock catback.

my dad is a pretty good welder, he has a basic welder, but its it hard? or should I just pay and have the muffler shop do it, I called around, some said 100$ total, others said 45 per muffler, some said 40$ total, but im not sure on the prices.the mufflers are 32 each + 20 shipping.
Should I even upgrade my mufflers, I have the flowmaster 50 series with dumps, they sound OK, not that much rumble, they are 3 chamber delta flow. I think its not realeasing my cars pontential, I want to upgrade to the flowmaster original 40's(no delta flow) and have that with dumps, should I do it?

what bout clamping them on, my dad said that alot of exhausts are clamped on. Do you think I could do that instead of welding. would it work

most people clamp them, then drive to the muffler shop to have them welded. a clamp isnt a good enough seal. they will distort the pipes when torqued.
